Klauer Manufacturing, a trusted name in high-quality building products for over 150 years, is growing in the southern region with our new facility in Tomball, Texas. As we expand, we are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and safety-conscious Operations Specialist to support both production and material flow on the shop floor.

Primary Responsibility

This position is responsible for the safe and efficient setup, operation, and monitoring of production equipment, along with the movement, loading, unloading, and staging of raw materials and finished goods. This role ensures machines run efficiently, materials flow smoothly, and finished products meet quality standards. This position directly impacts our ability to meet customer delivery expectations while maintaining an organized and efficient facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate production equipment according to specifications, ensuring proper calibration, tooling, and adjustments
  • Monitor machine performance and perform basic troubleshooting; escalate complex issues as needed
  • Operate forklift and crane to move material, parts, and finished goods throughout the facility
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks safely and efficiently
  • Stage raw materials for production and remove finished goods for shipment
  • Assist production teams by supplying materials and clearing work areas to maintain workflow
  • Perform visual inspections and quality checks to ensure materials and finished products meet standards
  • Assist with packaging, labeling, and palletizing of finished products as needed
  • Participate in preventive maintenance activities and routine equipment care
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in alignment with 5S standards
  • Perform daily forklift inspections and report maintenance concerns
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards\
  • Participate in ongoing safety meetings and training sessions

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment
  • Experience operating forklifts and/or production machinery preferred
  • Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand machine setup sheets or work instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Basic math and measurement skills; experience with gauges or measuring tools is a plus
  • Basic computer or scanner skills for inventory and production systems preferred
  • Willingness to cross-train and assist in multiple areas of production as needed

Physical Demands

Requires standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, and stooping. Strength rating for this job is M - Medium work - exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/ or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/ or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work.
