Role Description The Executive Director of Preschool at KLA Schools in Huntsville, AL is a full-time, on-site leadership role responsible for the overall management and educational quality of the center. This role oversees daily operations, including staff supervision, family communication, scheduling, and adherence to licensing and safety regulations. The Executive Director collaborates with educators to implement Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum, supports classroom planning, and ensures developmentally appropriate practices across age groups. Additional responsibilities include managing budgets, enrollment, and resource allocation, as well as fostering a welcoming, inclusive school culture that supports children, families, and team members. The Executive Director represents the school within the local community and works closely with franchise leadership to maintain KLA’s standards of excellence.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Early Childhood Education and Education with understanding of Alabama DHR regulations
- Ability to lead Curriculum Development aligned with Reggio Emilia principles and other best practices in early childhood learning.
- Experience working with Kindergarten and early childhood age groups, including knowledge of developmental milestones and age-appropriate instruction.
- Budgeting and basic financial management skills to oversee tuition, expenditures, and resource planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven leadership and staff management experience in a school, childcare center, or similar educational environment.
- Excellent communication, family engagement, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to inclusive and non-discriminatory practices.
- Knowledge of state childcare licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and best practices in preschool administration.
- Ability to work on-site in Huntsville, AL and maintain a professional, collaborative presence within the school community.
