Insurance:

PERS Retirement:
The district assumes and pays the 6% average employee contribution to the Oregon PERS system.

Job Title:
High School Math Teacher (Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II)


Overview:

Klamath Union High School is seeking a motivated and dedicated High School Math Teacher to join our academic team for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will be qualified to teach a range of high school mathematics courses, including Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on students' mathematical understanding, preparing them for future academic and career success. A collaborative spirit and a passion for helping students succeed are essential to this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach high school math courses, including Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II, aligned with state standards and district curriculum.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that foster student understanding and build a strong foundation in mathematics.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction, to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Assess student performance through assignments, quizzes, tests, and projects, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress in the learning management system and communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with other math teachers, administrators, and staff to develop curriculum and support student achievement.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in teaching mathematics.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and the community to support student growth.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience teaching high school math courses, particularly Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II.
  • Familiarity with Common Core State Standards and proficiency in preparing students for standardized testing.
  • Ability to incorporate technology into math instruction, including online learning tools and virtual platforms.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations, including English Language Learners and students with IEPs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, staff, and families.
