Certified Veterinary Technician/ Experienced Veterinary Assistant
Klamath Animal Clinic in Klamath Falls, OR is looking to hire a dedicated, efficient, self-motivated CVT/ Assistant to join our team. The schedule will vary and include some holiday shifts.
We are a privately owned, 2 doctor veterinary clinic open 5 days a week. We are a talented, self-motivated, determined group who love where we work. - Venipuncture
- catheter placement
- radiology
- anesthesia monitoring
- physical examinations and patient assessment
- surgical preparation and assisting
- dentistry
- laboratory work
- pharmacy
- patient recovery
Other skills required but not limited to:
- Bend/Stoop/Twist/lifting (with assistance) 50% of time; Stand/Walk/Move about for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be driven, be a team player, and handle unexpected events with grace.
- Possess excellent communication skills.
- Ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
- Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
- Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with Oregon's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
- Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns
- Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain paperless medical charts.
- Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
- Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
Preferred Experience:
- 2 years’ experience in a technician position preferred but willing to work with the right candidate. Wages are negotiable on experience.
- Customer Service or Sales experience preferred
