About the Role
Klahanie Homeowners Association is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee all financial operations of the Association. This position works closely with the Community Manager and Board of Directors to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and sound financial decision-making that supports the community.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
- Process bi-weekly payroll and oversee related reporting (W-2s, 1099s)
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and variance analyses
- Perform month-end and year-end close procedures
- Reconcile bank and investment accounts monthly
- Prepare and manage annual operating, reserve, and capital budgets
- Monitor cash flow and forecast future financial needs
- Assist with annual reserve studies
- Oversee collections on past-due accounts, including payment plans and coordination with collection agencies
- Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory reporting (B&O taxes, business licenses, annual reports, property taxes, unclaimed property)
- Coordinate annual audits and work with external auditors/CPAs to file income taxes
- Prepare quarterly Association dues billing and monthly pool rental billing
- Attend and present financial updates at monthly Board meetings
- Lead monthly Finance and Operations Committee meetings
- Assist residents with account-related questions
- Process resale demands and distribute welcome packets to new residents
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience; HOA or property management experience a plus
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with accounting software required
- property management software and QuickBooks experience preferred
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Office-based position with moderate noise level
- Regular use of computer and office equipment
- Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
Pay: $80, $90,000.00 per year
