The IT Support Intern will serve as the first point of contact for technical assistance within the organization. This role is designed for a student or entry-level professional looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced corporate environment. You will work closely with the IT team to resolve hardware and software issues, maintain inventory, and ensure employees have the tools they need to be productive.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Support: Provide initial troubleshooting for common hardware (laptops, printers, peripherals) and software (Windows/macOS, Microsoft 365, Google) issues.
- Ticket Management: Monitor the IT helpdesk queue, document support interactions, and escalate complex issues to senior staff.
- System Provisioning: Assist in imaging, configuring, and deploying new workstations for employee onboarding.
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of company assets, including serial numbers, assignments, and equipment returns.
- Maintenance: Perform routine updates, patches, and physical cleaning of office technology.
- Foundational Knowledge: Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, Wi-Fi) and operating systems (Windows 10/11 or macOS).
- Problem-Solving: A logical approach to troubleshooting and the ability to "Google" solutions effectively.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills; ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Education: Currently enrolled in (or recently graduated from) a Computer Science, Information Technology, or related degree program.
- Exposure to a medium sized network and various cloud related systems.
- Experience working within a Google Workspace environment.
- Professional IT Service Desk skills and procedures.
- Weekly Commitment: 20 hours.
