Position Overview
The Vice President of Corporate Development is responsible for driving corporate growth, strategic investments, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and strategic partnerships. This executive leads the corporate development team, evaluates high-impact business opportunities, and ensures that the organization’s strategic initiatives align with long-term growth objectives.
Role Focus: Corporate growth strategy, M&A, investment evaluation, strategic partnerships, and cross-functional execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Growth Planning
Lead the design and execution of the company’s corporate growth strategy.
Identify new market opportunities, business expansion initiatives, and revenue streams.
Work with CEO and executive leadership to align growth initiatives with corporate strategy.
2. Mergers & Acquisitions
Identify potential acquisition targets, conduct due diligence, and lead negotiations.
Oversee integration planning and execution post-acquisition to maximize value creation.
Develop financial models, valuation analyses, and ROI projections for potential deals.
3. Investment Strategy
Evaluate potential strategic investments, joint ventures, and partnerships.
Monitor portfolio companies or investment projects to ensure performance and strategic alignment.
Coordinate with finance and legal teams to ensure proper risk management and compliance.
4. Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with product, operations, finance, and legal teams to implement growth initiatives.
Provide guidance to business units on strategic priorities and capital allocation.
Facilitate communication and alignment between corporate strategy and operational execution.
5. External Relations & Strategic Partnerships
Build and maintain relationships with investors, partners, and key industry stakeholders.
Represent the company in strategic negotiations, industry forums, and investor meetings.
Identify and secure strategic alliances to strengthen the company’s market position.
6. Team Leadership
Lead a team of corporate development professionals, including directors and managers.
Establish performance metrics, development plans, and team culture focused on execution excellence.
Mentor senior managers and develop future leaders in corporate development.
Qualifications
Required
18 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting.
10 years in a senior leadership role managing corporate development teams or projects.
Strong experience with M&A, strategic partnerships, and investment evaluation.
Excellent analytical, financial modeling, and negotiation skills.
Preferred
Experience in financial services, fintech, or digital assets / cryptocurrency platforms.
Advanced degree (MBA, CFA, or equivalent).
Prior experience in cross-border transactions or global expansion projects.
