Licensed Practical Nurse (Part-Time / Per Diem)
Location: Joint Base San Antonio–Lackland, TX
Schedule: Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM

Position Summary
The Department of the Air Force (AETC) at Joint Base San Antonio–Lackland is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide part-time backup medical support for a quadriplegic federal civil service employee within the 37th Training Support Squadron (TRSS). This is a stable, long-term role in a secure military environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing and administrative support for one quadriplegic patient.
- Perform intermittent catheterization (as needed).
- Assist with feeding, bowel/bladder care, and personal care tasks.
- Provide respiratory/respirator support.
- Support pressure ulcer and blood clot prevention.
- Follow all care requirements in the Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan (QASP).
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (approved by USAF Surgeon General).
- Active, unrestricted LPN license in the state of service.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Minimum 12 months experience in the last 24 months (medical/surgical or rehab preferred).
- Knowledge of TJC, HIPAA, DoD privacy regulations.
- Must provide required immunizations: Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, TB (2-step), Influenza, HIV (for patient care).
- Must comply with CDC, AFI 48-105, and public health disease control standards.
