CNA Class and Certification Pathway:
- You can begin CNA training at age 15 and be eligible for employment as a CNA at age 16.
- CNA training will include:
- 75 total hours
- 20 hours of in-person instruction
- 39 hours of online coursework
- 16 hours of supervised practical training at Kittson Healthcare Nursing Home
- The class is offered through OnTrack, a hybrid CNA program.
- High school students at Roseau High School and Greenbush-Middle River High School can take this course during the school day (when available).
- Sponsorship is available to cover the cost of the CNA class by Kittson Healthcare.
- If your CNA certification has expired, you may be eligible to challenge the state exam and continue working as a certified nursing assistant.

Job Summary:
As a Basic Care Aide, you will support the nursing team and work alongside Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to assist residents with daily living activities and provide emotional and physical support.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting residents with personal hygiene (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Monitoring and reporting changes in residents' health
- Offering companionship and emotional support
- Helping with mobility and transfers
- Assisting with meal preparation and feeding as needed
- Maintaining documentation of resident care and activities
- Keeping residents' environments clean and safe
Job Requirements:

- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently

Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or GED
- Must be at least 16 years old
- You are eligible to take the CNA class and state exam at age 15, allowing you to be employed as a CNA at age 16
- Working toward MN Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) designation – must obtain within 4 months of hire
- Must pass a Minnesota background check and fingerprinting
- Complete TB test within the first 3 weeks of employment

- Morning Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Evening Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Night Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- Includes every other weekend and holiday
