The Executive Director of the Cahoon Museum is a strategic leader who marries a long-term vision for the museum’s impact with a keen understanding of how to actualize that vision. A dynamic communicator and compelling storyteller with a sincere enthusiasm for community engagement, this leader galvanizes support for the museum’s collections, exhibitions, and educational programs among visitors, donors, and community members.
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required. A master’s degree is preferred. 8-10 years of progressive, relevant experience in leadership roles, particularly in museums, historic homes, or other cultural organizations, is essential. Previous executive-level achievement within a nonprofit organization is required. While a background as a curator or art historian is not essential, the leader must possess an evident passion for the mission of the Cahoon Museum.
The compensation range for this position annually is between $135,000 - $145,000. Health, PTO and other benefits are available. This is a full-time, in-person role based in Cotuit, Massachusetts.
