What are the responsibilities and job description for the Puppy Yoga Instructor (Part-Time / Contract) — Rescue Events position at Kitten Paws and Downward Dogs?
Teach the most joyful class you'll ever lead.
Kitten Paws and Downward Dogs brings adoptable rescue puppies into yoga studios for unforgettable community classes — public events and private bookings for bachelorettes, corporate teams, and celebrations. Every class raises money for a local rescue and helps puppies find their forever homes.
We're hiring certified yoga instructors to guide warm, all-levels classes surrounded by rescue puppies. You focus on teaching and holding the energy of the room — we handle the puppies, the rescue partnership, ticketing, setup, and cleanup.
This is a flexible, paid, contract role. Pick up the events that fit your schedule; there's no minimum commitment.
What you'll do
- Lead a 45–60 minute all-levels, beginner-friendly yoga flow.
- Set a light, welcoming, fun tone for guests who are there for the puppies as much as the practice.
- Keep the room grounded and safe while puppies roam between mats.
- Close with a calming savasana and celebrate any adoptions.
- Partner with our on-site team, who manage all puppy care and logistics.
What we're looking for
- Certified yoga instructor (RYT-200 or equivalent — certification required).
- Confident teaching all-levels, beginner-friendly classes to mixed groups.
- Warm, high-energy, and unflappable — comfortable teaching through joyful unpredictability.
- Reliable, communicative, and punctual.
- Carries (or is willing to obtain) liability insurance.
- Genuine animal lover who supports rescue and adoption.
Preferred: experience with events, workshops, or large groups; weekend availability; comfort teaching at multiple studios; an engaged local following.
What we offer
- Paid per event as a 1099 contractor.
- Zero logistics — no sourcing puppies, coordinating rescues, or cleanup. You just teach.
- Flexible, low-commitment schedule you control.
- A feel-good role with a cause that's raised over $120,000 for animal rescues.
- Built-in, often sold-out audiences and exposure to new students.
- Room to grow into more events and private bookings.
