Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is seeking an SUDP Team Supervisor to support substance use disorder services for adolescents and adults within our Pathways Program. In this role, you will provide clinical leadership while delivering direct SUD treatment and supporting the development of outpatient and intensive outpatient programming. This position offers the opportunity to combine hands-on clinical work with team leadership in a setting focused on growth, collaboration, and recovery-oriented care. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality clinical substance use disorder treatment, including ASAM assessments, placement recommendations, treatment planning, and counseling for youth ages 13–26.
  • Participate in assessing adolescent program needs and contribute to program development and improvement efforts.
  • Support adjunctive SUDPs and SUDPTs in coordinating timely, patient-centered, culturally competent, and age-appropriate interventions.
  • Provide clinical interventions and referrals in collaboration with internal and external providers to meet treatment and level-of-care needs.
  • Deliver direct services to individuals actively using substances, including individual and family therapy, group therapy, psychoeducational workshops, recovery skill-building groups, and crisis intervention.
  • Develop written treatment plans with integrated interventions addressing substance use across the health continuum.
  • Apply motivational interviewing, stages of change theory, harm reduction, stage-wise treatment strategies, and other behavioral interventions as clinically indicated.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of co-occurring disorders and medications used in the treatment of substance use disorders (MAT).
  • Monitor compliance with court-ordered requirements, including LRAs and substance-related mandates, and complete required legal documentation and reports.
  • Conduct random UDS as clinically indicated.
  • Manage workload effectively by prioritizing tasks and maintaining productivity standards.
  • Support teamwork, collaboration, and a positive work environment to best serve program participants.

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Associate’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field

EXPERIENCE: Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)

LICENSURE: Substance Use Disorder Professional certification. Registered Agency Affiliated Counselor.

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health field.

EXPERIENCE: Expert (minimum of 5 years of job-related experience). Experience working with clients with co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse disorders.

Performance Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Maintain a working knowledge and skill in verbal de-escalation skills as outlined in agency- trainings and other agency-mandated trainings
  • Maintain working knowledge of current Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health treatment recommendations, trends in community mental health, including health care reform, electronic medical record, and computer technology.
  • Knowledge of substance use disorder intervention models and techniques, harm reduction, group facilitating, and treatment planning.
  • Knowledge of childhood development and family systems.

Skills

  • Experience working with youth, collaborating with schools, care givers, and wrap around team.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees, clients, organizations, and the public.
  • Communication Communicates clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrate ability to work efficiently and effectively, organizing workload by prioritizing and managing multiple tasks. Maintain, or exceed, productivity standards as established by policy and evaluated by unit manager.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Work Environment: Residential treatment facility. Frequent mobility and/or sitting required for extended periods.

Mental/Physical Requirements: While performing the job duties, the employee is required to walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, talk, or listen. Peripheral vision is also required for this position.

  • A sign-on bonus is a form of compensation for a new employee in addition to their established salary. Bonus amounts are prorated by FTE, and any changes to FTE before all bonus installments are paid may alter the total payout.
