Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and experienced part time Dental Receptionist to join our Perio team! In this role, you will be the friendly face and efficient coordinator at the front desk, ensuring a seamless patient experience from scheduling appointments to managing patient records. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help foster a welcoming environment while supporting the daily operations of our dental practice.
This is a parttime position Monday - Wednesday 7:30 AM -4:00 PM
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive first impression
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verifications efficiently
- Collect payments, process co-pays, and manage billing procedures with accuracy using medical billing systems
- Maintain and update patient records ensuring HIPAA compliance at all times
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages when necessary
- Assist with documentation review, data entry, filing, and managing dental records to support clinic operations
- Support clinical staff with administrative tasks such as intake forms and care plan documentation
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical/Dental Receptionist or in a similar medical office support role.
- Knowledge of dental terminology
- Experience with Dentrix and Dexis software
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems and demonstrate professional phone etiquette
- Ability to review documentation accurately while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for filing, data entry, and record management
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable; familiarity with health information management practices is a plus
