About the Role

As a Test Technician II, you will play a critical role in ensuring electronic products meet customer, quality, and functional requirements before shipment. This position is responsible for performing production testing, troubleshooting failures, analyzing test results, and supporting continuous improvement efforts within the Production Test Department.

The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on technical work, diagnosing electronic problems, and collaborating with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to drive successful production outcomes.

This role supports 2nd Shift operations and is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to advance their technical skills within a growing electronics manufacturing organization.


Key Responsibilities

Perform functional, diagnostic, and production testing of electronic assemblies and systems.
Execute complex testing procedures with minimal supervision.
Troubleshoot electronic assemblies using schematics, wire diagrams, test procedures, and technical documentation.
Identify and isolate common product failures and determine corrective actions.
Operate industry-standard electronic test equipment including:
Digital Multimeters
Oscilloscopes
Power Supplies
Automated Test Equipment (ATE)
Generate detailed failure reports and maintain accurate production records.
Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities.
Assist with training and mentoring entry-level Test Technicians.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve technical issues.
Support continuous improvement efforts related to quality, efficiency, throughput, and safety.
Maintain compliance with company procedures, customer requirements, and quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related technical discipline;

OR

  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant technical experience.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in:

o Electronics Manufacturing

o Production Test

o Electronic Troubleshooting

o Repair or Related Technical Fields

  • Demonstrated ability to:

o Read and interpret electrical schematics

o Read wiring diagrams and assembly drawings

o Analyze technical documentation

o Troubleshoot electronic assemblies

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in defense, aerospace, military, industrial, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.

  • Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE).

  • Familiarity with:

o Oscilloscopes

o Signal Generators

o Programmable Power Supplies

o Electronic Diagnostic Equipment

  • IPC certification or equivalent technical certifications.

  • Previous mentoring or training experience.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Climate-controlled electronics manufacturing environment.

  • Frequent interaction with electronic test equipment and production systems.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to distinguish colors and read detailed technical documentation.
