ICE GUARD ATTENDANT; The Ice Guard Attendant is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all guests, staff, and property at the ice rink facility. This includes maintaining a visible presence, enforcing facility rules, monitoring behavior, and responding to emergencies as necessary. The officer will work closely with the ice rink management team to create a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors.
ICE GUARD ATTENDANT ATTENDANT RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure Guest Safety: Enforce ice rink rules and regulations, including but not limited to proper ice safety, equipment use, and visitor conduct.
- Guest assistance; Provide on-ice assistance to guests, particularly those who may be new to skating or experiencing difficulty.
- Crowd Control: Assist in managing large groups during public skate sessions, ice events, and competitions to prevent overcrowding and ensure smooth operations.
- Incident Response: Respond to emergencies, including accidents or altercations, and provide assistance.
- Collaboration with Staff: Work with staff to resolve any safety concerns, maintain ice conditions, and ensure a secure environment for visitors.
- Documentation: Complete incident reports and maintain records of all security-related activities.
ICE GUARD ATTENDANT QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to confidently and safely skate on ice, including stopping, turning, and maintaining balance.
- Familiarity with ice rink operations or experience in a recreational facility setting
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods and work in cold environments
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
