Duties

• Welcome guests warmly and manage host/hostess responsibilities, including seating arrangements and reservations using systems like OpenTable or similar platforms
• Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff and servers
• Deliver food promptly and efficiently from the kitchen to tables, maintaining food safety standards and presentation quality
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as plating or garnishing when needed, supporting kitchen staff with basic culinary duties
• Clear and clean tables by bussing dishes, resetting tables quickly to accommodate new guests, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas
• Handle cash transactions accurately using POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS, including processing payments and providing receipts
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness by washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, adhering to food safety regulations

Skills

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly in person and over the phone with proper phone etiquette
• Strong communication skills for taking orders clearly and coordinating effectively with team members
• Knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and proper sanitation practices in a restaurant setting
• Experience in food service roles such as host/hostess, server, or catering staff is highly desirable
• Basic math skills for cash handling and POS transactions
• Familiarity with restaurant operations including order taking, serving, dishwashing, and guest relations
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism
