What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Supervisor position at KIT CARSON COUNTY HEALTH SERVICE DISTRICT?
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Responsible for the direction of patient care and nursing service personnel in the areas of emergency, outpatient, observation, medical/surgical, and swing bed. The position requires knowledge and skill of: professional nursing theory and practice; case management; Center of Medicaid & Medicare (CMS) conditions of participation for swing bed patients; principles of teaching and learning; research and quality assurance; Level IV Trauma designation rules and regulation, and effective collaboration of services skills.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in nursing program with four or more years of supervisory experience preferred or an accredited Associate’s Degree program with at least eight years of supervisory experience. Current Colorado State or Compact Registered Nurse Licensure. Required current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC, or must obtain in 6 months of hire. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess computer knowledge and skills. Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated.
If requested, must be willing to assist in the nursing department with direct patient care during times of high census and/or high acuity
