Job Description:
We are seeking a talented baker, experience in making bagels a plus, and a passion for baking to join our kitchen team. In this role, you’ll manage the bagel-making process, prepare a variety of other baked goods, and bring fresh, creative ideas to the menu. You’ll work independently, maintain high-quality standards, and ensure all baked goods are ready for service.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee bagel production from start to finish (mixing, proofing, boiling and baking.
- Prepare a variety of baked goods such as biscuits, pastries, cookies, and more for breakfast, brunch, and lunch service.
- Follow recipes precisely to ensure consistent, high-quality results.
- Contribute new ideas for baked items and seasonal menu specials.
- Ensure all baked goods meet appearance, taste, and freshness standards.
- Monitor inventory levels and help manage ingredient stock.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure a smooth service.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a baker, with a focus on bagels and other baked goods.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and produce consistent results.
- Creative and passionate about baking, with a desire to innovate.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of food safety and kitchen sanitation.
- Flexible schedule, including early morning shifts and most weekends.
- Experience in a restaurant or bakery setting is preferred.
Preferred:
- Bagel-making experience is a strong plus.
- Culinary school or formal baking training is a bonus, but not required.
