Demand Planner

Job Description Summary

An Inventory & Demand Planner helps make sure the company has the right products at the right time by predicting customer demand and managing inventory levels. The role involves analyzing sales and market trends, creating accurate forecasts, planning stock levels, and coordinating with teams like Sales, Marketing to keep supply and demand balanced. This position also monitors potential shortages or excess inventory, supports the S&OP process, and ensures smooth product availability while reducing costs and improving overall supply chain efficiency.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

• Provide support in enhancing/building/sustaining new integrations, scope changes and workflow processes with other systems; both technical and operational. Enable data driven decision-making.
• Ensure efficient and correct flow of information between supply chain, warehouse, purchasing and sales.
• Work with other functional teams to ensure various components work together to meet the operational goals of the solution keeping in mind, the integration, quality, and performance of the deliverables.
• Develop detailed project plans and participate in project reviews to support delivery of ongoing SCM projects.
• Focus on global operating model design, operations performance improvement strategy, operations excellence capability development, and Lean/Six Sigma talent and performance management.
• Analyze inventory levels, production speed, and product demand to determine optimal inventory levels for the company.
• Analyze and manage inputs to supply chain systems to optimize service and financial supply chain metrics.
• Anticipate MRP and inventory management change requirements to be required by stakeholders.
• Work with the SCM Analytics team to provide functional support for master data governance and master data troubleshooting and will need to understand the touch points for SCM execution.
• Develop processes to govern and validate supply chain relevant data. Build KPIs to track their impact.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Forecasting future customer demand based on sales history, promotions, POS data, market trends, and new launches.
• Driving forecast accuracy by understanding error drivers, collaborating with Sales/Marketing, and using statistical tools.
• Identifying demand risks and opportunities, including upside and downside scenarios for cross‑functional review.
• Maintaining optimal inventory levels to support service levels (In‑stock KPIs: Walmart, Target, etc.).
• Reviewing inventory trends, including excessive, new excessive, aging, and liquidation opportunities.
• Managing backorders, allocation, execution planning, and general adjustments (e.g., write‑offs).
• Executing inventory grading, aligning safety stock, coverage, and replenishment strategies with POS performance.
• Monitoring BO risk and developing contingency plans (alternative sourcing, expedited routes).
• Preferred Qualifications
• SAP or similar forecasting software knowledge / experience is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree (Business, Statistics, or related field), Statistics Major is preferred.
• 1 year related experience is required
• Good communication and Team building skills, good people managing skills
• Strong analytical abilities, Extensive spreadsheet analysis and strong mathematical abilities

The anticipated compensation range is

19.25 - 36.55 USD Hourly

Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors including qualifications, education, experience, and location. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
