Drainage Engineer | Pensacola, FL
As a Drainage Engineer, you will support senior engineers in the design and analysis of stormwater systems for roadway and infrastructure projects. You will assist with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, drainage calculations, and the preparation of construction plans, profiles, and reports in accordance with DOT and local agency standards. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills using tools such as ICPR, HY-8, and GEOPAK Drainage or OpenRoads Designer. Under close supervision, you will gain experience with storm sewer design, culvert sizing, erosion control, and floodplain management, while working on a variety of transportation projects. A strong foundation in civil engineering principles and a willingness to learn are key to success in this role.
Entry-level engineers will work under close supervision, receive detailed instructions, and be expected to grow in knowledge and confidence over time. Supervision is primarily administrative, with work assigned in terms of specific objectives. Presence at the designated office or job site is required to fulfill the responsibilities of the role and gain valuable hands-on experience. A consistent exercise of discretion, judgment, and a willingness to learn are essential for success.
