Legal Assistant (International)

Kirton McConkie, a large Salt Lake City law firm, has an exciting employment opportunity for an experienced legal assistant to work in our International Section. The primary responsibility will be to act as a project manager for a group of attorneys with a varied legal practice. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, attentive to detail, comfortable tracking numerous matters simultaneously, and have a positive "can-do" attitude.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a centralized list of incoming matters, assignments, deadlines, and priorities, and helping prioritize competing demands.
• Following up regularly with assigned team members regarding progress and next steps.
• Identifying approaching deadlines, stalled matters, and items requiring the attorney's attention.
• Providing concise, regular status updates to attorneys and clients.
• Maintain attorney calendar.
• Help manage attorney correspondence and e-mail.
• Format and construct various correspondence, memoranda, and other legal documents.
• Organize and maintain physical and electronic files; and
• Provide proactive and advanced legal support and other tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Project management experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with various AI platforms, such as ChatGPT, Claude, etc.
• Ability to meet required deadlines, multi-task, prioritize, organize, and work calmly under pressure.
• High attention to detail, be proactive, and self-motivated.
• Ability to both follow instructions, and to think and work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• Two years of experience in a law firm preferred.
• Foreign language ability is a plus; and
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
