6:00 am - 9:00 am AND 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Job Purpose: Provide direction, guidance, and supervision for children during latch key activities.
1. Plan a variety of activities, structured and unstructured, that encourage student
participation in social, recreational, and educational activities.
2. Provide supervision, guidance, and discipline.
3. Prepare the assigned program sites.
4. Requisition supplies and equipment.
5. Oversee the collection of registration and program fees.
6. Order snacks for program.
7. Monitor safety of children and be able to account for all children at all times.
8. Develop a procedure for properly registering and releasing a child from the program.
9. Oversee daily and weekly record keeping for each child.
10. Keep parents informed of activities and events through newsletters and/or monthly
calendars.
11. Communicate with parents in regard to any special issues regarding their child.
12. Develop process for keeping track of payments for program.
13. Supervises, schedules and evaluates latchkey aides.
14. Follow all school policies as written.
15. Provide work assignments to latchkey staff.
16. Serve as the liaison between the latchkey programs, various school staff and the
communities.
Skills/Qualifications: Organization, especially organizing groups of people involved in activities
occurring in various locations. Communications, verbal, written and interpersonal.
High School Diploma or GED
Evidence of a clear record as determined by the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCII) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Supervise students before and after the school day
Assist with serving snacks
Clean and sanitize tables
(Please note: The person hired for this position will be required to obtain a Student Aide Permit, issued through the Ohio Department of Education. - The cost for the permit is $25, and must be renewed on an annual basis.)
