Kirsch CPA Group is an employee-owned CPA firm seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support small and mid-sized business clients with payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, multi-state payroll, agency notices, and year-end reporting.

What You’ll Do
- Process payroll for multiple small and mid-sized business clients
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and municipal payroll regulations
- Support multi-state payroll and remote employee payroll compliance
- Prepare and support payroll tax filings
- Register clients with applicable payroll tax agencies
- Handle payroll tax notices, agency correspondence, and resolution support
- Prepare W-2, W-3, 1099, and year-end payroll forms
- Review benefit and fringe benefit taxability
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
- Answer client payroll questions clearly and professionally
- Collaborate with CPAs, accountants, and advisors on payroll-related issues
- Support payroll-related general ledger entries and reconciliations as needed
Qualifications
Required
- 2 years of payroll processing, payroll tax, or payroll compliance experience
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Experience with payroll tax filings, payroll notices, and agency communication
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple client payrolls and deadlines
- Professional, service-oriented communication style
Preferred
- Multi-state payroll experience
- Experience with remote employee payroll compliance
- CPA firm, payroll bureau, PEO, or outsourced payroll experience
- Experience with W-2, W-3, 1099, and year-end payroll reporting
- Bookkeeping or payroll accounting experience
- QuickBooks Online experience
