KIRKSVILLE R-III SCHOOL DISTRICT
POSITION TITLE: Food Service Line Worker
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- All Food Service employees must pass the Basic Food Sanitation Course
- Ability to follow printed menus and recipes
- Basic math skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, coworkers, and staff
- Ability to lift 40 lbs from 0 to 38 inches
- Ability to finish assigned tasks on schedule
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/PREFERRED:
- Previous food service experience is preferred but not required
CONTRACT DAYS WORKED: Follows the school calendar
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Wage and work calendar to be established by the Board of Education.
REPORTS TO: Unit Leader and Food Service Director
JOB GOAL: To facilitate students receiving nourishing meals
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Preparing meals from menus and recipes
- Serving meals
- Clean up of serving areas, food prep areas/kitchen, and dishes
- Safely storing food
- Helping organize food stock inventory
OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Other duties as assigned. This does not preclude the assignment of additional or supplemental duties. The District and food service director reserves the right to modify the assignment as needed to reflect such duties.
PERFORMANCE EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s Policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
- The employee must have the ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, and pull.
- Ability to lift 40 lbs from 0 to 38 inches
- Food service work can involve exposure to hot, cold, and loud environments
