Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Welding Instructor to inspire and educate students in the art and science of welding. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive welding instruction through both classroom lectures and practical hands-on training sessions.
- Develop, update, and implement curriculum that aligns with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to foster skill improvement.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed in the classroom and workshop environments, including OSHA standards.
- Incorporate relevant technical skills such as programmable logic controllers, automotive diagnostics, electrical experience, HVAC/R systems, plumbing, and aircraft maintenance into lessons when appropriate.
- Maintain a well-organized learning environment with up-to-date equipment and materials for effective teaching.
- Collaborate with industry partners to stay current on technological advancements and employment trends in manufacturing, construction, and related fields.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, Stick, or flux-cored welding.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various trades such as automotive repair, HVAC systems (including HVAC/R), electrical systems, plumbing, and maintenance.
- Prior classroom or adult education experience is highly desirable; ability to teach diverse learners effectively.
- Familiarity with curriculum development and instructional best practices.
- Knowledge of safety standards including OSHA regulations applicable to industrial environments.
- Technical proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Blackboard learning management system or similar platforms.
- Industry certifications in welding or related trades are preferred; ongoing professional development is encouraged.
