Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to uphold cleanliness standards.
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and vacuums efficiently and safely.
- Handle chemical agents following strict safety protocols for sanitation and disinfection purposes.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling of cleaning supplies, furniture, and equipment with safe lifting practices.
- Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and proper floor care techniques to ensure a polished appearance.
- Follow all safety procedures related to chemical handling, equipment use, and general custodial activities.
- Assist with minor facilities maintenance tasks and report any repairs or safety hazards promptly.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidates.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, safety procedures for chemical handling, and sanitation standards is highly advantageous.
- Experience operating commercial cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safe lifting practices and manual handling techniques to prevent injuries.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors while maintaining a clean environment.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols diligently in a fast-paced setting.
