Advert Wording

Pupil Admissions are a team of 18 staff which includes, 11 FTE Admissions Officers/Business Support Officer posts, 3 FTE Assistant Admissions Managers, 1 Deputy Pupil Admissions Manager, 1 Admissions Team Manager and 1 Strategic Lead Admissions Manager.

Role

Your role is to work as part of the team to make a difference for the children and young people of Kirklees by enabling children to secure a school place by:

  • Making admissions processes as fair and simple as possible
  • Working with parents and carers to provide advice and guidance about applications for their children
  • Building relationships and working in partnership with all colleagues, schools, partners, and neighbouring local authorities
  • Working collaboratively and flexibly with colleagues across the council to support the admissions function
  • Ensure compliance with the School Admissions Code.

As a key member of the team you will undertake a range of duties that will include:

  • Specialist and technical administrative support;
  • Data processing (input and retrieval), including service based IT systems;
  • Responding to complex enquiries;
  • Information and record management as directed;
  • Provide project support, research and collate information as directed;
  • Complex and specialist word processing;
  • Produce routine statistical information and management information;
  • General administrative duties.
