Director of Nursing (DON) Responsibilities:
Coordinate and oversee resident care with a proactive, “hands-on” management style.
Develop, review, and revise nursing and clinical policies in accordance with current standards.
Manage nursing staff schedules and adapt as needed during staff shortages or emergencies.
Conduct employee performance evaluations and handle disciplinary matters to maintain high care standards.
Make sound, independent decisions as necessary, especially in high-pressure situations.
