Landscaping Crew Leader

The Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader plans and executes small scale landscaping operations and maintains grounds and landscape of private and business residences. He/ She supervises and participates with Landscape Maintenance Technicians so that the client property is left in the best condition possible in the safest and most efficient way possible. Duties may include:

·         Mowing, weed whacking/trimming, edging, blowing, mulching

·         Weeding, digging, leaf removal (raking/blowing/hand pulling leaves from shrub bed areas)

·         Occasionally may be asked to aerate, seed, prune, or spray weeds

·         Using manual and power-operated equipment, with an emphasis on crew safety and proper use of equipment

·         Using gardening implements and power operated equipment

·         Repairing established lawns with seed mixtures

·         Using technology to keep record of job information as well as communicate to the Landscape Maintenance Manager

The Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader should be sure that all duties are performed in a timely and professional manner so the requirements of the job as outlined in the work order are met. The Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader is responsible for the Technician’s proper use and care of issued hand tools and mechanical equipment, while displaying a professional appearance and manner. The Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader also ensures the company facilities and grounds maintain a professional appearance.

Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader will comply with and enforce company policies and procedures listed in the employee handbook as well as the safe operation of tools and equipment. Cooperation, production and customer satisfaction are expected. Crew Leaders should set the example for their coworkers and will be both held accountable and rewarded for their behavior and performance as well as their subordinates. Any unforeseen circumstances or unusual situations can be resolved by the Landscape Maintenance Manager.

Must provide a valid Virginia Driver’s License
