Our family-owned funeral home is looking for a dependable, professional, and compassionate individual to join our team as a Funeral Home Driver.
This is an as-needed position with no set schedule. The ideal candidate must be flexible and willing to accept assignments with little to no advance notice. Trips may range from short local day trips to extended long-distance transportation, including trips that require overnight hotel stays.
Because you will represent our funeral home while traveling and interacting with others, professionalism, discretion, reliability, and respectful communication are essential.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate funeral home vehicles while transporting individuals.
- Complete short local trips as well as long-distance trips, sometimes with little to no notice.
- Be willing and able to travel overnight when required, including weekends and holidays.
- Follow all applicable traffic laws, regulations, and company policies while operating a vehicle.
- Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor at all times.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for loading or unloading safely.
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully with funeral home staff, families, and others encountered during assignments.
- Exercise good judgment and discretion while representing the funeral home.
- Be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Assist with loading and unloading personal belongings or equipment while practicing proper manual handling techniques to ensure safety.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform routine inspections, and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Arrive on time and be dependable when accepting an assignment.
- Handle unexpected changes or situations calmly and professionally.
Qualifications
- Current and valid driver's license.
- Clean driving record required.

- Ability to follow rules, regulations, laws, and company procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
