As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of pets while delivering high-quality grooming services that meet the needs of pet owners.
Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and cats.
- Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques and products.
- Handle animals safely and effectively, using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety during grooming sessions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use.
- Communicate with pet owners regarding their pets’ grooming needs, behavior, and any health concerns observed during grooming.
- Provide basic animal care as needed, including feeding, watering, and monitoring pets' behavior while in the facility.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians when necessary to address any medical concerns that may arise during grooming sessions.
Qualifications
- Previous experience of steady two years in bathing and one year as a professional pet groomer is required for this position
- Strong skills in animal handling, including experience with kennel operations, vet tech, dog training, or pet sitting.
- Ability to lift heavy animals as required for grooming tasks.
- Knowledge of basic animal care principles is essential; familiarity with veterinary practices is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
