What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Clerk position at Kiowa Casino Group?
SUMMARY
The Retail Clerk will greet and assist Guests, answer questions, make recommendations and upsell when possible. Perform and record cash/credit card transactions for Retail Outlet using the Point-of-Sale system. Stock items, tag merchandise and ensure that all areas are safe, clean and organized. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the organization's policies and procedures, tribal regulations, and all federal/state laws, as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. All Team Members must embrace and deliver Kiowa's Guest Service Standards to every Guest on every shift, as outlined in Orientation, the Team Member Handbook, SOP's, and any other related training.
2. Ensure an exceptional level of service and satisfaction is achieved throughout the properties, exceeding the expectations of external and internal Guests alike in a timely and effective manner.
3. Greet Guests and provide friendly, efficient, courteous Guest service, as well as thank Guests upon departure.
4. Process all sales transactions accurately, according to Kiowa Casinos' policy and procedures.
5. Maintain retail inventory in an orderly manner and restock when necessary.
6. Organize retail space in neat and professional manner, maximize use space for visual appeal, and suggest products to customers and guests.
7. Process retail merchandise returns and/or exchanges.
8. Prepare and balance cash drawer.
9. Notify supervisor of any variances, lost merchandise, or other issues.
10. Open and close retail outlet according to policy and procedure.
11. Follow Kiowa Casinos' established cash handling policies and procedures.
12. Tag merchandise with provided prices and bar coding.
13. Maintain consignment merchandise to include pricing and labeling.
14. Assist with monthly inventory.
15. Assist with ordering of sundries and merchandise.
16. Must adhere to the safety rules and regulations of the Kiowa Casinos and of the Hospitality department.
17. Must adhere to departmental, organizational, state, and federal safety rules and regulations and applicable processes for safe operations.
17. Perform additional duties or projects, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- 1 year of cash handling experience and basic level computer proficiencies, specifically Microsoft Office, internal business software and related products and/or an equivalent combination of education, experience, or training.
REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interface with guests, and team members.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work cooperatively with all departments and all team members.
- Ability to independently manage multiple tasks in a professional manner.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
- Ability to obtain and maintain Gaming License is required.
- Key positions require knowledge and application of Title 31 reporting requirements.
- Must have the ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug test.
