The Safety Manager is responsible for implementing and supporting safety policies, training, and daily practices to ensure the well-being of all Kinzler Companies' employee-owners. This role partners closely with field teams, supervisors, and the senior leadership promote a proactive safety culture, maintain regulatory compliance, and respond to incidents in a timely, effective manner.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Support and foster a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.
  • Conduct jobsite and facility safety inspections; identify and report hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Deliver safety orientations and coordinate required training sessions for field and office staff.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining safety documentation and records, including incident reports, training logs, and OSHA logs.
  • Partner with operations leaders and field staff to reinforce safe practices and job-specific safety planning.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to OSHA, DOT, EPA, Wage and Labor, and other applicable safety standards.
  • Participate in investigations of job-related injuries, accidents, or near misses and recommend improvements.
  • Track and support compliance with safety certifications and PPE requirements.
  • Work with HR to ensure incident reporting and OSHA logs are accurate and reported timely.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership regarding trends, training needs, or compliance gaps.
  • Collaborate with occupational health providers as needed to support return-to-work and incident follow-up.
  • Assist with development and distribution of safety toolbox talks and monthly awareness content.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Hands-on knowledge of general, residential, and/or agricultural construction environments preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience implementing and supporting safety policies and practices within a construction or agricultural environment required.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, DOT and other applicable safety standards required.
  • OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with field and office personnel.
  • Detail-oriented and well organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and mobile safety applications.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree Preferred, High school diploma or GED required;
  • Additional safety or construction-related certifications preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Daily local and regional travel; occasional overnight travel required.
  • Frequent walking, standing, and sitting at a desk or in field environments.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, stooping, and climbing ladders.
  • Must be able to work at heights and in varied weather conditions.

Work Environment

This role requires regular presence on active construction sites and in warehouse/facility environments. Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, noise, insulation materials, and chemicals may occur. Constant alertness and adaptability to environmental changes are necessary.

Additional Employment Standards

Must follow all company safety policies and use required PPE as outlined in the Safety Manual.
