Inventory Accountant

This role supports financial reporting, cost analysis, and inventory controls while collaborating with operations, purchasing, and accounting teams. Key Responsibilities
Inventory Counts & Controls
- Facilitate and oversee physical inventory counts and cycle counts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal policies and procedures.
- Investigate inventory variances and work with operations teams to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Support and strengthen internal controls related to inventory management.
Inventory Reconciliations & Reporting
- Perform monthly reconciliations between the inventory sub-ledger and the general ledger.
- Ensure inventory balances are accurately reflected in financial statements.
- Prepare inventory-related journal entries and supporting documentation.
RNI (Received Not Invoiced) Management
- Reconcile RNI balances and investigate discrepancies in coordination with procurement and accounts payable teams.
- Monitor aging RNI items and follow up to ensure timely resolution.
Consumable Inventory Management
- Manage consumable inventory, including tracking usage, valuation, and performing cycle counts.
- Ensure proper classification and accounting treatment of consumable items.
Operational Support & Communication
- Monitor and manage the inventory inbox, responding to inquiries and resolving inventory-related issues.
- Serve as a key point of contact between accounting and operations for inventory-related questions and processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably with inventory or cost accounting.
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting principles and controls.
- Experience working with ERP systems and inventory modules.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
