What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receiving Clerk - Steel Bay position at KINZE MANUFACTURING?
Position Summary
This position assists with receiving and checking the condition of incoming raw materials, accepts or rejects materials as appropriate, maintains proper records and transfers materials, and maintains the organization of the receiving area/steel bay.
General Duties
- Ability to use measuring instruments to determine the width, length, and thickness of raw materials.
- Complete understanding of manufacturing process and facility.
- Safely run an overhead crane, all types of scales, and various forklifts (5000 to 30,000 capacities)
- Knowledge of or willingness to learn how to accurately use hardness testing equipment.
- Maintain proper 5S, housekeeping, and safety standards
- Must wear and use all required personal protective equipment
- Responsible for your safety and the safety of others
- Comply with company core values, policies, and legal guidelines
Requirements
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must pass company lift truck certification
- Experience running a forklift is preferred
- Must possess basic computer skills
- Must work well independently and in a team situation
- must be quality and safety-oriented
- Must have high attention to detail and a sense of urgency
- Ability to compute basic mathematics
- Ability to ready, comprehend, follow, and apply work instructions and procedures
- Accurate problem identification and solving skills are preferred
- Accurately use a caliper and tape measure
Working Conditions
Manufacturing Environment:
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time
- Wearing appropriate PPE and following safety procedures
- May require lifting, pushing, pulling of objects.
- Varying temperatures, depending upon season and machining
