Bilingual Dental Patient Service Representative / Liaison

Overview

Under the direct supervision of the Dental Business Services Supervisor, this position must be able to perform all the minimum qualifications of the Dental Liaison job descriptions. The role of the Dental Liaison is a non-exempt position responsible for performing a variety of duties related to dental patient care directed by DAC/Dental Director. Responsible for performing dental education to parents & children. Making dental appointments for children at the appropriate site. Crossed trained with DAC Assistant and PSR.

Candidate qualifications: 

Minimum Qualifications:  Ability to read, write and understand the English language. Communicate effectively. Interacts in a friendly, professional manner with a wide range of patients, operations staff, physicians and other departments in a friendly, professional manner. Knowledge of dental office protocols/procedures. Ability to work well under pressure is essential. Ability to communicate and work effectively with the other physicians and peers. Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures. Familiarity with basic computer operations, EDR software. Ability to work successfully with minimum supervision. Must be able to work seated for several hours at a time to provide clinical services to patients. Frequent movement within the office handling patient flow. Ability to maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance. 

Experience: 1 year office experience preferred, bi-lingual preferred.

Education: High school diploma or GED 

Licensure: None

Certifications: BLS/OSHA/HIPAA

Key Responsibilities

• Gives dental presentations to parents & children in Child Health facility at Gaston County health department
• Meets with all parents and explains the benefits of making an appointment for all children in household and giving them a dental home.
• Schedule patients for efficient use of doctor and staff time. 
• Make sure duplicate records are not being created in the Electronic Dental Record (EDR)
• Check for current Medicaid status and date of last claim for 6 month check
• Following up with parents to find out why didn’t keep appointment 
• Make a spreadsheet with how appointments made and kept, and submit it monthly to management
• Attend health fairs when needed and possibly Saturdays
• Conducts self in accordance with Kintegra Health employee manual
• Maintains strictest confidentiality adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulation.
