SUMMARY OF POSITION
We are seeking a skilled and driven Estimator to join our growing Concrete team in York, PA. The Estimator is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates for concrete-related project scopes while working collaboratively with team members.
The ideal candidate will have a background in Engineering or Construction Management, along with relevant field experience. Strong computer proficiency, effective communication skills, and a willingness to learn and grow are essential for success in this role.
Please note that this position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Partners with the estimating team to identify bid opportunities and establish schedules.
- Obtains plans and specs for projects chosen for bid, including addenda and updates.
- Engages vendors to secure competitive pricing for materials and required services.
- Ensures all bids align with project specifications and contractor requirements.
- Develops clear scopes of work and prepares complete, accurate proposals.
- Submits proposals and supporting documentation in a timely and organized manner.
- Collaborates with the Vice President of Concrete and Project Managers to review estimates as needed.
- Verifies awarded project scopes by comparing contract documents to bid proposals and plans.
- Works closely with Project Managers to support successful project execution and ensure scope alignment.
- Prepares pricing for change orders related to scope adjustments or drawing revisions.
- Communicates effectively with Project Managers regarding scope details, changes, and purchasing needs.
- Assists with submittals and supports material procurement when required.
- Maintains professional relationships with clients, representing the company in a positive manner.
- Participates in weekly review, scope, and turnover meetings.
- Stay updated on construction technology and methods.
- Analyzes job cost data from historical and active projects to support estimating accuracy.
- Perform other related duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Prior estimating experience preferred.
- Prior field construction experience preferred.
- Advanced comprehension of drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong attention to detail
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

- Timberline
- Microsoft Schedule
- Microsoft Word and Excel
- Quantity take-off systems: QTO, OST & Paydirt
