Kinsa is recruiting for a: R&D Product Growth & Customer Support Manager
Location: Boston, MA area (Hybrid)
Our client is a plant-based food ingredients manufacturer based in the Boston, MA area. The mission for the R&D Product Growth & Customer Support Manager is to lead a team of R&D Scientists to undertake customer focused R&D projects. You and your team will help demonstrate our ingredient’s unique functional performance, sensory, or nutritional benefits in finished food applications and will provide formulation guidance and manufacturing support to customers to scale-up foods created from our ingredients.
- Successful candidates MUST HAVE 12 years of experience in R&D, with experience leading a team of scientists.
- MUST UNDERSTAND GRAIN & FLOUR INGREDIENT FUNCTIONALITY.
Compensation/Benefits:
- $150,000 – $160,000 compensation range
- 5-10% bonus potential

Key Responsibilities and Goals:
- Lead R&D projects and R&D team, focusing on customer product development and internal product support.
- Manage a group of R&D Scientists, Sr. Scientists, and the Innovation lab, providing coaching and development for the team.
- Collaboration with Sales and customers, providing customer support and commercialization at customer’s plants.
- Building technical content for marketing documents demonstrating an ingredient’s value proposition.
- Conduct competitive ingredient analysis, analytical testing, and provide technical support for all projects.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams, communicating R&D findings to audiences that will include Sales, Marketing, Quality Assurance, and Customers.
Competencies Needed for Success:
- 12 years of experience in R&D in grains or bakery ingredients.
- B.S. Degree in Food Science, Bakery Science, Nutrition Science, or Cereal Science
- Experience leading a team of scientists and running an innovation lab.
- Experience in benchtop food product development through commercialization at manufacturing plants.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15% of the time.
