Who You Are:

The Vice President, Finance will oversee the Financial Planning and Analysis function of the organization. This executive will foster an entrepreneurial spirit, balance being both strategic and detail-oriented, be data-driven and have operational finance experience. We are seeking a hands-on, self-starter who has worked at a medium to large media or entertainment brand and possesses strong business partnering skills. The VP, Finance will report to the Chief Financial Officer and work closely with the Kino Lorber management team, accounting team and operational teams.

What You'll Do:

  • Direct and coordinate business unit (BU) financial planning and budgeting. Develop annual operating plan, long-range plan, and interim forecasts across all Kino Lorber subsidiaries and departments. Work closely with the accounting team to monitor the monthly closes. Craft management reporting and analysis which delivers impactful commercial insights to drive effective decision-making and achievement of strategic, financial, and operational objectives and performance targets. Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based financial analyses to provide insight into the organization’s operations, business plans, contract negotiations, and product investment decisions. Financial models include operating revenue and expense, cash flow, capital and headcount planning.
  • Lead corporate cash-flow analysis and forecasting in anticipation of the company’s daily cash needs and future cash flows to improve and optimize the company’s liquidity position. Assist CFO in potential financing and management thereof.
  • Advise the company of the financial implications and risks related to underlying business and important strategic decisions and communicate in real time the ongoing financial condition of the business.
  • Work closely with other senior executives to understand key business drivers and formulate financial objectives, both short and long-term. Help establish clear KPIs and monitor ongoing performance against these objectives.
  • Assist the CFO in allocation of capital and resources to drive highest ROI.
  • Contribute strategic input on the financial due diligence and analysis for any acquisitions, divestitures, and/or collaborations with external organizations.
  • Assume an advisory role in all contracts and agreements the company may be considering.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally to create and manage board and investor communications.
  • Streamline current tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information. Collaborate with the accounting team on the maintenance and implementation of financial and accounting systems enhancements, processes, tools, and control systems with a focus on automation to effectively scale the business.

What You Bring:

  • MBA in Finance or Accounting strongly preferred. CPA a plus. 15 years of experience, including 8 years in entertainment & media. Subscription and/or streaming business model experience a plus.
  • Finance leadership experience in operational finance roles in medium to large media businesses with full P&L and working capital management responsibility. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Exceptional analytical and modeling skills including ability to build budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans across multiple businesses to appropriately reflect and drive profitable growth. Expertise in short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and business unit profitability analysis.

This role is based in the NYC metro area and is hybrid. Currently, that includes two days in the office and three days remote.
