Duties
- Efficiently wash, sanitize, and dry dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed to support culinary staff
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces and ensure proper disposal of waste and recyclables
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and assisting with general restaurant cleanliness during service hours
- Operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Follow manual handling protocols to lift heavy items such as large pots or crates safely
- Adhere strictly to sanitation standards to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with food safety management policies
Qualifications
- Previous food service or restaurant experience preferred but not required; a willingness to learn is essential
- Knowledge of food handling, sanitation procedures, and kitchen health and safety standards
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and stand for extended periods during shifts
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as dishwashers and basic cleaning tools is a plus
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen environment
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting culinary staff and serving guests
