Kinkead & Stilz, PLLC is growing and seeks a motivated, experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join our collaborative team in Lexington, Kentucky. Our litigation practice handles sophisticated disputes, including commercial, real estate, natural resources, estates and trusts, banking, employment, negligence, and medical malpractice defense. The ideal candidate is a proactive litigator who thrives in complex matters and contributes to our open-door, team-oriented culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze complicated legal issues efficiently.
- Draft motions, discovery requests/responses, briefs, and legal correspondence with minimal supervision.
- Manage all aspects of discovery, including taking and defending depositions.
- Advance case progress, manage multiple matters, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing with partners, peers, clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice in Kentucky.
- 3–7 years of litigation experience, preferably in complex defense matters.
- Substantial experience in corporate litigation, trust & estate disputes, and/or medical malpractice defense is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to handle cases independently while collaborating in a client-service-focused firm.
- Outstanding academic credentials, writing skills, and professional references.
