- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges efficiently
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
- Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and ensure shelves are stocked with fresh inventory
- Assist in stocking shelves and managing inventory levels to support seamless store operations
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Uphold phone etiquette standards when communicating with customers over the phone or via other channels
- Support the team with basic retail math for cash handling and sales calculations
- Engage in product demos to showcase new items or promotions, enhancing the shopping experience
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Strong supervising or leadership experience is a plus for supporting team efforts
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and stock management
- Excellent communication skills in person and over the phone; bilingual abilities are highly valued
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining genuine customer engagement
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and stock management in a grocery or retail store setting
- Familiarity with grocery store operations, including stocking, inventory control, and customer service standards
- Exceptional customer service skills with a positive attitude and proactive problem-solving approach
- Basic math skills necessary for cashiering duties and sales calculations
