Who We’re Looking For

We are hiring experienced laborers who live within 90 miles (1.5 hours) of our Middlesex, VT office.

  • Winter months: Limited travel
  • Once spring breaks: Travel to job sites across VT, NH, and NY is required

This role is intended for individuals seeking career-long employment, starting as a laborer with opportunities to grow within the company.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform physical labor including digging, shoveling, spreading, and leveling dirt and gravel
  • Measure distances from grade stakes, set tight lines, and drive stakes
  • Utilize hand tools including pick, shovel, and other construction tools
  • Perform excavation, trenching, scaffold erection, shoring, and debris removal
  • Signal equipment operators for alignment and adjustments
  • Fine-grade earth to specifications using hand tools
  • Mix, pour, and place concrete, gravel, and other materials
  • Position, align, join, and seal pipe sections
  • Lift, carry, and support construction materials (up to 50 lbs)
  • Bolt, nail, align, and support structural components
  • Perform cleanup and general site maintenance
  • Follow all Kingsbury safety policies and procedures

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Civil construction experience is REQUIRED, including one or more of the following:
  • Pipe laying
  • Septic systems
  • Water services
  • Culverts
  • Concrete or carpentry work
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to obtain OSHA 10 Certification
  • Willingness to travel during the construction season
  • Ability to perform heavy physical labor in all weather conditions
  • Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, climb, crawl, and work at heights or in confined spaces
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions and adapt to changing tasks
  • Strong commitment to quality workmanship and jobsite safety

Compensation & Benefits

  • $20–$26 per hour, based on experience
