We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Cheese Specialist Lead to join our team. The Cheese Specialist Lead will be responsible for overseeing the cheese department, providing expert guidance to customers and staff, and ensuring the highest quality and standards in our cheese offerings. They will create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Achieving sales and profit goals established for the Cheese department and monitor and control all established quality assurance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Cheese Department Management:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the cheese department, including inventory management, stocking, and merchandising.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cheese display area.
Offer expert advice and recommendations to customers regarding cheese selections, pairings, and preparation.
Provide exceptional customer service, answering inquiries, and addressing customer concerns.
Curate and expand our cheese selection by sourcing new and unique cheeses from local and international suppliers.
Ensure the quality and freshness of all cheeses in stock.
Supervise and train cheese department staff, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to provide excellent customer service.
Schedule and coordinate staff shifts and tasks.
Monitor the condition of cheeses, ensuring they meet our quality standards.
Implement proper storage and handling procedures to maintain cheese freshness.
Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to plan and execute cheese-related promotions, tastings, and events.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Cheese Specialist or similar role.
In-depth knowledge of various cheese types, origins, and characteristics.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Ability to lift and move heavy cheese wheels and products.
