TITLE: Healthy Living Director EXEMPT: Yes
BRANCH: Kings Mountain Family YMCA
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
LEADERSHIP LEVEL: Leader
GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the supervision of the Kings Mountain Executive, the Healthy Living Director will be responsible for leading all aspects of the branch wellness efforts. The primary responsibility will be implementing the strategic direction of the YMCA Healthy Living Plan that is focused on Chronic Disease, Wellness Programming and Community Health. This work should blend seamlessly with the work in membership.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Promotion or a related health field
- Prior supervisory/management and budget experience preferred
- Experience in health & wellness program management
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification (required within the first 30 days)
- National fitness certification (ACE, NASM, ACSM, etc.) preferred
- Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions and supervise program activities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Works collaboratively with Branch Executives, Wellness and Membership staff across the branch/association to provide ongoing leadership and direction to Wellness functions
- Develop and expand fitness programming within the community in accordance with YMCA strategic and operating plans
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff to support program delivery - Chronic Disease/EBHI, AOA, Group Ex, and Wellness Coaches
- Participate in Membership and Wellness Cabinets
- Contribute to Board Ad Hoc Committee(s) as needed
- Coordinate and lead volunteers to plan the Branch 5K Road Race
- Represent the Y on any health-related boards locally and regionally
- Develop and manage the annual Wellness operating budget
- Support YMCA special events, signature programs, and community engagement initiatives
- Attend relevant trainings, workshops, and meetings to maintain professional development
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Program Director, Executive Director, or CEO

- Culturally merge Membership and Wellness teams into one cohesive group
- Creates a member-focused culture with model relationship building practices
- Quality staff development around relationship building
- Full cadre of chronic disease programs implemented with quality partners
- Innovative wellness programs created and implemented
- Wellness staff have goals and are appropriately evaluated and coached
- New corporate partnerships formalized
- Improved marketing and communications of YMCA Healthy Living opportunities
- Increased sponsorship and support of wellness activities
