Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional learning
- Plan and execute engaging lesson plans tailored to diverse developmental needs, including toddlers and preschoolers
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management strategies
- Foster a safe and nurturing environment that supports child welfare and promotes healthy childhood development
- Collaborate with families and colleagues to support early intervention efforts and individualized education plans (IEPs) for children with special needs
- Conduct assessments to monitor progress, including standardized testing when applicable, and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental milestones, and classroom activities in compliance with licensing standards
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings; classroom management experience is essential
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, Montessori methods, or other educational philosophies such as literacy education and early intervention techniques
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members
- Ability to develop curriculum content that includes lesson planning for various subjects like math and physical education
- Familiarity with childhood development stages and behavior management strategies
- Certification or training in childcare or early childhood education preferred; relevant certifications may include CPR/First Aid or specialized training in special education or toddler care
