Duties
- Perform groundskeeping activities including mowing, edging, fertilizing, blowing, aerating, and weed control to keep turf healthy and elevated
- Conduct landscape maintenance tasks such as planting, pruning, trimming trees and shrubs, and installing new hardscape features
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely for tasks like digging, edging, pruning, and installing irrigation systems, and pressure washing
- Maintain hardscape elements including walkways, patios, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures through cleaning and minor repairs
- Assist with preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery for the highest quality end product and safety standards
- Support tree care activities such as trimming, pruning, planting
- Use equipment like skid steers; excavators or other construction machinery for larger landscaping or site improvement projects
- Follow safety protocols at all times when working with machinery and tools
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical knowledge to operate and troubleshoot various landscaping equipment and power tools
- Previous experience with lawn care practices including mowing, fertilizing, aeration, and weed management
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques encompassing planting, pruning, irrigation installation/repair, and hardscape upkeep
- Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, pruners, rakes along with power tools like trimmers or blowers effectively
- Familiarity with operating construction equipment such as excavators for site development projects
- Understanding of horticulture principles related to plant health and landscape design
- Experience in tree care including trimming, pruning, planting or removal with proper safety procedures
- Ability to perform routine maintenance on landscaping machinery to maximize lifespan and safety standards
