What are the responsibilities and job description for the Courier - RFT - Materials Management position at KINGS DAUGHTERS MEDICAL CENTER?
The courier is responsible for following all the facilities established policies and procedures. Responsible for timely
and accurate pick-up and delivery of office specimens and safe handling of those specimens. Practice safe and
defensive driving to ensure, in as far as possible, that no injury or accident occurs and be a good representative of
KDMC. This includes representing the hospital by being courteous to other drivers while on duty in the company
vehicle. Communication and resolution of issues that may come up during the normal business day, establish good
rapport and customer service with all labs and all office personnel through efficient and timely delivery. Accurate
and timely completion of any reports. This position will also have the responsibility to deliver mail, medical and
non-medical supplies, pharmaceutical items, and central sterile items. This position also has a responsibility to
transport financial items between facility clinics, facility offices, KDMC and the bank. Responsible for routine car
duties, examples include oil changes, fuel fill ups and car washes by notifying immediate supervisor. Ability to work
independently and as part of a team.
Hours to Work - M-F 8am - 430pm
- High school diploma/GED preferred.
- Six months' experience preferred.
- Valid MS driver's license required.
- Must possess an acceptable driving record that meets all state requirements regarding speeding, safety, traffic laws, etc.
- Knowledge of standard vehicle operating procedures.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to lift heavy objects.
