Job Overview:
The Site Supervisor is responsible for the overall management and daily operations of the K–5 after-school program at the Ave W Annex, ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for all participants. Additionally, the Site Supervisor oversees and supports the supervision of the on-site middle school program, ensuring alignment with program quality, safety, and operational standards.
This role provides on-site leadership across program implementation, staff supervision, participant safety, and administrative operations. The Site Supervisor also supports enrollment and outreach efforts, assists with curriculum planning, and facilitates ongoing activities and family engagement opportunities throughout the year-round program, including after-school, holiday, and summer programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by maintaining compliance with Kings Bay Y policies, New York State School Age Child Care (SACC) regulations, and New York City Department of Youth and Community Development protocols.
- Manage day-to-day operations of after-school, holiday, and summer camp programming.
- Monitor attendance, activity schedules, and documentation to ensure all regulatory and funder requirements are met and submitted accurately and on time.
- Serve as a primary on-site liaison with Kings Bay Y leadership, school administration, the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development, and the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) representatives.
- Work in close coordination with Kings Bay Y Program Supervisors, School Leadership, DYCD, and OCFS representatives.
- Recruit, onboard, train, and supervise program staff, supporting both professional growth and program quality.
- Oversee staff scheduling, coverage, and coordination to ensure appropriate ratios and smooth daily operations.
- Manage payroll-related procedures, including staff time review and approvals.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance monitoring to staff.
- Develop, implement, and monitor age-appropriate activities, lesson plans, and enrichment programming.
- Facilitate and support family engagement activities and events throughout the program year.
- Coordinate outreach, enrollment, and attendance efforts to meet program participation goals.
- Monitor program budgets and expenses to ensure alignment with organizational financial guidelines, including staffing, supplies, and program materials.
- Track expenditures and support responsible resource allocation.
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, professional development sessions, and special events, including those held outside of regular program hours, as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Youth Program Manager or as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Youth Development, or a minimum of three years of supervisory experience working with elementary-age children in a youth development or after-school setting.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and program management skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Must complete Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) medical and background clearance.
- Must provide a recent medical exam, including proof of a current PPD test, upon hire.

Compensation
- $50,000-$55,000 annually, commensurate with experience and schedule.
