Instructor for barber school

Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Instructor for our barber school to educate and mentor aspiring barbers and cosmetologists. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in barbering, hair styling, and aesthetic treatments, along with strong teaching skills. This role involves delivering comprehensive classroom instruction, developing lesson plans, and ensuring students acquire the necessary skills to excel in their careers. The instructor will foster a positive learning environment, promote professional growth, and uphold the highest standards of cosmetology education.

Duties

• Deliver engaging and informative lessons on barbering techniques, hair coloring, hair extensions, facial treatments, eyelash extensions, body waxing, nail care, and other cosmetology services.
• Develop and implement detailed lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and industry best practices.
• Demonstrate practical skills such as haircutting, styling, facials, makeup application, dermabrasion, aesthetic laser treatments, trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, and other advanced cosmetology procedures.
• Assess student progress through evaluations, practical demonstrations, and written tests; provide constructive feedback to support their development.
• Maintain a safe and professional classroom environment conducive to adult learning.
• Stay current with industry trends and incorporate new techniques into teaching modules.
• Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure compliance with licensing requirements and program accreditation standards.
• Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching effectiveness and technical expertise.

Qualifications

• Valid state licensure in Cosmetology or Barbering with extensive hands-on experience in hair styling, coloring, extensions, facials, lash extensions, waxing, nail care, and aesthetic treatments.
• Proven classroom or training experience in adult education or cosmetology instruction preferred.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy relevant to cosmetology procedures as well as specialized skills such as trigger point therapy and dermabrasion are highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and lesson planning abilities to effectively teach diverse adult learners.
• Demonstrated expertise in hair coloring techniques, eyelash extensions, body waxing, facials, makeup application, aesthetic laser treatments, deep tissue massage, and other advanced cosmetology services.
• Ability to motivate students and foster a positive educational environment focused on skill mastery.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and continuous learning within the industry. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
